..."but are you glorifying Him now?"

This morning as I was reading the word and my daily devotional, this verse really stuck out to me and challenged me.

"But grow in grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be glory both now and to the day of eternity. Amen." 2 Peter 3:18

In the words of my brother and God-fearing Spurgeon..."Believer are you anticipating the time when you shall join the saints above in ascribing all glory to Jesus; but are you glorifying Him now?" Not only are we going to glorify and ascribe all our praise to our most high King of Kings for eternity, but we also need to ask our selves that very question, are we giving Him all the glory now? Like Moses after meeting with Christ on Mount Sinai, do our faces shine of God's holiness? Just like the apostles "when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated, common men, they were astonished. And they recognized that they had been with Jesus." Acts 4:13 Basically what I am getting at is the only way our lives can radiate Christ and bring Him glory is by resembling Him. This is Gods goal in the lives of His elect, to transform them into the likeness of His son,"For those whom He foreknew He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son...". Are we seeking to bring God glory in our thoughts, actions, words, and time? Everything we do and every morning we wake up, our goal should be to first meet with the Lord so we may grow more into the likeness of Him, and then to carry His truth with us throughout our day so we may glorify Him! Is this your goal believer? Do you desire sanctification for our Saviors glory? Seek the Lord and seek Him in all things to be glorified!
"Paul, a servant of God and an apostles of Jesus Christ, for the sake of the faith of God's elect and their knowledge of the truth, which accords with godliness." Titus 1:1

"Now may the God of peace who brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great shepherd of the sheep, by the blood of the eternal covenant, equip you with everything good that you may do His will, working in us that which is pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen."
